Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about insurance, scheduling, and what therapy with me actually looks like.

Do you offer online therapy throughout New York?

Yes. I'm licensed in New York State and see clients by secure video anywhere in New York — from Nassau County and the five boroughs to upstate. All you need is a private spot and a phone, tablet, or computer.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I'm in network with several major plans, and coverage is verified through Headway before your first session so you know your cost up front.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Cigna. If your plan isn't listed, reach out and I'll help you look at out-of-network options.

Do you work with older adults?

Older adults are the heart of my practice. Much of my career has been face-to-face work with seniors around New York City — in homes, facilities, and offices — and telehealth now lets me continue that work without anyone needing to travel.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes — a free 15-minute call. It's a chance to tell me a little about what's going on, ask questions, and see whether talking to me feels comfortable. There's no obligation to book after it.

How long are therapy sessions?

Standard sessions are about 45 to 55 minutes, usually weekly at the start. Some people move to every other week once things feel steadier.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

Two easy ways: book directly through my Headway profile, or send me a message or call and we'll find a time together.

What happens during the first session?

Mostly we talk. I'll ask about what brought you here, what's been hardest lately, and a bit of background — your health, your family, your history. You lead as much as you want to. By the end we'll agree on what to focus on first. You don't need to prepare anything.

Is telehealth therapy confidential?

Yes. Sessions take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, and what we discuss stays confidential within the limits the law requires. Please note that email, the contact form, and the chat on this website are not secure — use them only for scheduling, and save personal details for our session.

Do I need a referral?

Usually not. Most plans I work with don't require a referral for outpatient therapy, but if you have an HMO it's worth a quick check with your insurer.

Still have a question?

Ask it on a free 15-minute call, or give me a ring. Either way, there's no pressure to book.
